  • Monica Cardenas
  • Years of dedication and work on European and Latin American stages, both solo-piano and chamber music make place to Mónica Cárdenas between Latin American pianists with great international career.

    She is also a composer of the contemporary classical genre since a few years ago, where she has already made her place among the most outstanding composers of the 21st century.

    Her compositions are for solo piano, chamber music, symphonic and for theater. Having already recorded 3 CDs, her works are performed in USA, Europe and Latin America; she is frequently invited to participate in Festivals and Master Piano Classes.
  • In February 2018, she was invited by the University of Riverside, California to give a conference and concert about her style of composition.

    In Brazil, her "Marinera" Wind Trio was premiered (09-2015) and same work was performed on the Clarinet Bass Festival at the University of Rio de Janeiro under the direction of Maestro Thiago Tavares (12-2015). Her works are also performed at the Contemporary Latin American Chamber Music Festival at the University of Indiana Music School (since 2017).

    She is co-founder of Cárdenas Trío with whom she performs in concerts for more than two decades in many places. Among the recordings of the Trio is one of the last CD called "Labyrinth" where they interpret classical music of Brazilian composers such as Villa-Lobos, Nazareth, Mignone.

    Mónica Cárdenas is Peruvian-Spanish, began her piano studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Lima and then at the Tchaikovsky Conservatories in Kiew and Moscow.

    She currently lives in Germany where she develops an intense activity as a pianist and composer, is also piano and chamber music teacher for the Musikwerkstatt-Ostholstein.
